Interactive installation

The dilemma between social contact and infection. Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic at the end of 2019, our daily lives have been turned upside down. Accompanied by the fear of a new infectious disease, people are isolated and physically separated from their „regular“ social lives. The measures taken to contain the infection bring consequences.
The effects that the distancing has on our interpersonal emotions will be shown by means of an interactive light installation. The installation is constructed as a projection surface, within which up to two people can move freely. With the help of the data of a 2D LiDAR sensor the people on the surface are recognized and passed on for data processing.Thus, the exact position data can be determined and integrated into the visualization via the interface. The visualization on the surface depends on the position and distance of the people and is generated in real time.
